The Lord works in mysterious ways.
This week, team member Sue Jetter suffered from severe pain and back trouble aggravated by a recent move. As she struggled to even find the strength to make it to the doctor's office, the team prayed for her healing. She informed us that there was only a 20% chance she would join us in India. The prognosis was not good: all signs pointed to a herniated disk.
On a whim, I asked Bryan Widstrand to join our team to fill the gap. Bryan's a pre-seminary student, engaged to family friend Stacy Newkirk, has plenty on experience in construction and finish work, and happened to be dining at my house on Wednesday night. After lots of prayer and discussion, Bryan has decided to join our team. We know that with Bryan's faith and construction background, he will be a blessing to our team. We also know that this is experience will be a powerful part of Bryan's pastoral education.
The blessings don't stop there. Miraculously, Sue's doctor has cleared her for travel to India. So now our team consists of 15 people, all called to serve in India.
Did Sue's back start acting up so Bryan could join us in India? I don't know the answer to that, but I am amazed at how once again everything has fallen into place at the right time for this trip.
